‘Civil Defense Museum’ is an organisation dedicated to the collection, conservation and presentation of all things related to the former ‘Civil Defense’-organisation. ‘CDM’ (‘MBB’) was formerly called ‘National Collection Civil Defense’. The ‘NCCD’ was founded in 2000 as a private initiative to provide information to the general public on the role of ‘Civil Defense’ during the Cold War. ‘CDM’ (‘MBB’) has 2 locations open to the public: ‘Command post Rijswijk’ and ‘Command post Grou’ (Friesland province).
‘Command post Rijswijk’ will be open to the public a few times a year.
Our volunteers host tours around the complex. We can also arrange for guided tours for elementary schools, secondary- or any other type of education upon request.
Made-to-measure packages are available for special interest groups (but also for company - or staff outings).
Our volunteers also take care of the upkeep of this piece of National Heritage.
