Let’s Celebrate Our Amazing Volunteers! This week is extra special for the volunteer community in the Netherlands and all over the world! Thursday, December 5, 2024, is International Volunteer Day, and Saturday, December 7, is National Volunteer Day in the Netherlands. These days are all about recognizing the incredible work that volunteers do here and around the world. Whether it’s supporting a local project or lending a hand across borders, volunteers make a real difference in every area of life. Volunteering isn’t just about helping others (though that’s huge!). It’s also a way to grow personally. You can learn new skills, find a sense of purpose, and feel the joy of giving back. Did you know that 84% of HR professionals think volunteering helps job seekers? And 80% of employers say they look at volunteer work positively when reviewing CVs. Beyond that, volunteering can boost your health and happiness helping you connect with others, feel more engaged, and even stay active.
