About Creating Rights

Creating Rights is a non-profit organisation based in The Hague, The Netherlands, working to advance Human Rights through Art. To do so, Creating Rights offers a platform with information on projects and professionals working in the following fields and their interaction with art: Human Rights International Justice, Transitional Justice, and Humanitarian and conflict-related settings. Through this platform, Creating Rights also connects these individuals and seeks to expand the realm of collaboration between practitioners, activists and scholars, in both art and law. The goal of Creating Rights is to deepen actions in the fields of Human Rights and International Justice through interaction with artistic and cultural productions, beyond their traditional and professional frameworks. We believe that art has the potential to open up a space for communication, where stories and projects can reflect the artistic necessity and an opportunity for reflection and understanding through different pathways to human rights and international justice.
