About Stichting Fietsmaatjes Nederland, afdeling Den Haag

Fietsmaatjes is intended for people who enjoy cycling, but no longer want or are able to do so on their own. Together with volunteers, they set out on a duo bike with electric pedal assistance. The volunteer steers and the guest can pedal along at his own pace.

Our goal is to install a duo bike in a number of neighborhoods and to recruit and match volunteers and guests per neighborhood. Thanks to Fietsmaatjes, people spend more time outdoors, get more exercise, and have more social contacts. Cycle and enjoy together!

The Fietsmaatjes project is already successful in 50 municipalities in the Netherlands and the organization behind it, Fietsmaatjes.NL, offers the opportunity to expand the project in the Netherlands.
