Summary

For residents who like to go outside, but are no longer always able to do so themselves, we have a walking club on a number of afternoons.

Detailed description

There is a walk in the green surroundings of View.

Due to the Corona measures, the whole group is currently not walking at the same time, but the volunteers go outside 2 by 2 with the residents.

We are still looking for new volunteers for the walking club on Wednesday and Thursday. There is a walk between half past two and half past four.

What does your work consist of?

- Pick up residents of the department and guide them 1 on 1 on the walk

- Drive a wheelchair if necessary

- Guide the resident back to the ward afterwards

- Immediately report any details or incidents to the activity guidance or the care.

The expectations:

- Being able to walk and physically able to push a wheelchair

- Know how to drive a wheelchair (instruction can be given in View)

- Affinity with the target group, mainly elderly people with dementia

- Be patient and have an eye for the resident and the environment

- Able to work together.

Our offer:

A volunteer position that provides satisfaction and pleasure in a collegial and fun working environment.

The opportunity to orientate yourself in this field and increase your personal skills.

A mutual trial/training period and good guidance.

  • Travel allowance and liability insurance; Attention with Care Day and Christmas; Inflorence, the newspaper for employees and volunteers of Florence.
