Summary
Working at one of the markets is very diverse: You can help building up the market, stock crates, weigh vegetables, help at the cash register or sell cheese.Detailed description
Would you like to come and help on a flexible basis, when you have time? Then the market team at one of the locations might be a good match for you.
As a cooperative, Lekkernassûh is stronger and more effective with every new person that joins in to help. Our aim is to implement a program providing healthy, honest and tasty produce that’s accessible to everyone in The Hague – and the more people that want to help us, the better we can do it. We believe in food – as a social binder that, in its simplicity, has universal values. In virtually every culture, it allows people to express hospitality; to show care for their loved ones; to both pay attention to, and respect, their surroundings.
Working at one of the markets is very diverse: You can help building up the market, during the market you can stock crates, weigh vegetables, help at the cash register or sell cheese. Or help cleaning up at the end of the market. There is plenty to do!
At Lekkernassuh it is all about cooperation, together we make sure that all activities in and around the fresh market and the packaging-free shop happen. We are always looking for people who like to help with different tasks.

Core activity
In May 2014, we started as an experiment to distribute local vegetables. We wanted to know whether the people of The Hague require local products. Every Wednesday between 16:00 and 19:00 we facilitate the market in de Gymzaal (Witte de Withstraat 127). Every member of the market buys a fixed amount of fruit and vegetables. We see the distribution of vegetables as the foundation for a physical infrastructure. We are now beyond the experimental phase and are evolving Lekkernassuh towards a structure for a collaborative community.
