Volunteer Job Overview

Volunteer Director Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization's mission
- Oversee the daily operations and administration of the organization
- Manage budgets, financial reports, and resource allocation
- Lead and motivate staff, volunteers, and board members
- Cultivate relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders
- Coordinate fundraising efforts and donor management activities
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards
- Assess and enhance program effectiveness and impact
- Engage in community outreach and public relations activities
- Advocate for the organization's goals and priorities with policy makers
Director Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in non-profit leadership roles
- Proven track record of successful fundraising and grant writing
- Experience with strategic planning and organizational development
- Strong network within the non-profit community
- Advanced knowledge of financial management and budgeting
- Exceptional public speaking and communication skills
- Experience in building and leading diverse teams
- Proficiency with donor management software and tools
- Understanding of current issues and trends in the non-profit sector
- Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership position within a non-profit organization
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams
- Outstanding fundraising and donor relationship skills
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budget oversight
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated success in program development and management
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices
- Experience in advocacy and public policy initiatives
