About Biblionef Netherlands Foundation
Stichting Biblionef Nederland has been committed to giving children worldwide access to inspiring books for over 30 years. We donate children's books to schools, libraries and organisations in over 40 countries , with the aim of promoting reading pleasure and reading skills in children. In collaboration with sister organisations in countries including South Africa, Ghana and France, we have distributed over 5 million books worldwide.
Biblionef Nederland is a foundation with the CBF quality mark , has ANBI status and works according to the RJ650 guidelines .
The role of Treasurer
As treasurer, you are responsible for the financial management of the foundation and advise the board on strategic financial decisions. You monitor the financial health of Biblionef and contribute to the further professionalization of our financial processes.
What are you going to do?
✔ Financial management and control: You are responsible for the banking and cash management procedures and supervise the financial administration.
✔ Strategic financial policy: You develop financing strategies and advise the board and the director on financial matters, projects and subsidies.
✔ Budgeting and reporting: You prepare the annual budget, monitor expenditure and prepare financial reports for the board.
✔ Relationship management: You maintain contact with banks, funds and accountants.
✔ Legal and fiscal compliance: You ensure that the foundation complies with relevant laws and regulations within the NGO sector.
✔ Risk management: You identify and manage financial risks in consultation with the board and management.
Who are we looking for?
🔹 Experience as a treasurer or a similar financial position.
🔹 Knowledge of financial laws and regulations, preferably within the NGO sector.
🔹 Experience with management and strategic financial management is an advantage.
🔹 Strong analytical skills and a proactive attitude.
🔹 Affinity with reading promotion and education.
🔹 Degree in finance, accounting or a relevant field (BSc/MSc).

About Biblionef Nederland
Biblionef works closely with schools that lack sufficient resources, and with local libraries that are either too far from a public library, or simply do not have enough resources to purchase new books.
We help educators and community libarians set up or improve their own libraries and organize reading sessions.
Our work means that we are constantly looking for new, exciting books that match the interests and reading needs of the children themselves.
For institutions or persons who want to call on Biblionef, the first step is to fill in a Biblionef Application Form, in which they make their wishes known.
Six months after the books have arrived on site, the teachers and the children are asked to provide feedback on the books they have received.
Since its foundation in 1991, Biblionef Netherlands has sent more than 1,000,000 brand new children's books in English, Dutch and other European and African languages to more than 1.6 million children worldwide.
