Summary
Are you a cycling fanatic and ready to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children in Kenya? We are looking for activists!Detailed description
Are you a cycling fanatic and ready to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children in Kenya? We are looking for activists for the bicycle project 'Cycling for Child Protection'! Organize an activity such as an afternoon of cycling and ask friends, family and colleagues to donate money to the project. Even better: gather your cycling friends and get started as a team!
What does the project entail?
As of 2022, 24 Community Child Protection Committees (CCPCs) have been established in 24 villages in LungaLunga. The committees consist of 200 active local volunteers. They have completed an extensive training program aimed at capacity building and structuring. They now organize awareness events in schools and communities and identify and monitor cases of abuse.
The villages in LungaLunga are widely spread out, making it extremely time-consuming to visit households on foot. The volunteers themselves also struggle every day to make ends meet. There is therefore no money for other transport. By providing each volunteer with a bicycle, they can cover larger areas and work more efficiently. In addition, bicycles are a sustainable means of transport, with minimal maintenance costs and no fuel costs.
Who are we looking for?
· You are enthusiastic and willing to take action to realize this project with 200 bicycles together
· The work of KidsCare appeals to you
· You have an affinity with cycling (in the broadest sense of the word)
Knowing more? You can contact coordinator Anne Vijverberg via [email protected]. Together we can make a world of difference!
We look forward to your response!
With warm regards,
