Summary

Under the motto 'we raise children together', Buurtgezinnen connects families who need help with a stable family in the neighbourhood.

Detailed description

Do you want to help another family?

Maybe you've thought... We're doing well, can't we do something for a family that could use some support? Our family is doing well, letting an extra child join in is no problem. Or maybe you've had hard times yourself and are still grateful for the support you received from people around you. And now you want to do that for someone else. For a family that has no one to fall back on. Sometimes because family and friends live on the other side of the world.

The support can vary from having a child participate on a fixed afternoon in the week to regularly staying over for a weekend. And from offering parents a listening ear and support with difficulties to doing something fun together with the children. Most support families are active for Buurtgezinnen for half a day every week or every other week. The support you offer, how much time you put into it and on which days depends on your possibilities. You make agreements about this with the requesting family under the guidance of the Buurtgezinnen coordinator.
