Activity Volunteer

Volunteer Position for Everyone Aged 18 to 27.

Location: From home, but physically at the activities in multiple cities (Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, or Amsterdam) 

Start Date: March 1, 2025

Hours per Week: 8-10 hours (200 hours in total) (flexible scheduling) 

End Date: Augustus 30th, 2025

Do you want to develop your skills in event organization and recruitment? And do you want to contribute to a more social and inclusive world at the same time? As an Activities Volunteer at Careibu, you will organize outings, events, drinks, and other meetups for the seniors, children, and students who are paired as buddies.

What does Careibu do? 

Careibu focuses on ‘social care’. Within our community, we connect young people with seniors (with dementia) for help and companionship. Besides these volunteer projects, we also offer paid services for young people, such as babysitting, cleaning, or senior & student services. Our aim is to connect different generations and give young people the opportunity to contribute to society while developing their own talents.

What is an Activity Volunteer? 

As an activities volunteer, you enrich the buddy trajectory (and the lives) of the children, seniors, and young people involved. During your 6-month trajectory, you will organize various events and outings, giving the matches the opportunity to:

- Do something different than just walking or having coffee

- Connect with each other in new ways

- Meet other young people participating in this trajectory

- Broaden the network of seniors and children

You will also have close contact with the Careibu team, acting as a bridge between the local student community and our team. Additionally, you will be matched with a senior in your area!

What will you do?

- Organize outings, events, and social gatherings for the pairs in your city

- Form partnerships with various cultural institutions

- Handle administrative tasks, keep an overview, plan, and coordinate

- Collaborate with a team of other enthusiastic young people

Do you need to know how to do all this already? Absolutely not! This is your chance to further develop in these areas. You will follow an intensive learning program and be guided by a team of professionals. This way, you work for a good cause while strengthening your skills. Good for the world, yourself, and your resume :)

What do we offer you?

- Guidance in coaching, coordination, recruitment, and selection

- A training program where you will discover and further develop your event planning skills

- Six months of experience in thinking and learning about the structures and strategy of a social organization

- Plenty of room for your own ideas and input

- Educational and enjoyable (online) gatherings with other activities volunteers

- A volunteer allowance of 180 euros per month

What do we ask of you?

- Availability of at least six months and 8 hours per week

- You are social, communicative, and enjoy personal contact

- You are studying and/or between 18 and 27 years old

- You live in (or near) Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam, or Utrecht

- You are proactive, responsible, and want to help with Careibu's mission

- You want to grow personally in event planning, recruitment, and coordination

- Experience as a volunteer at Careibu or with one of our projects is a plus
