Who We Are:

Welcome to Viable Community, a non-profit organization rooted in the European Union. At the heart of our mission is the establishment of community-managed projects dedicated to the preservation and regeneration of nature. Currently, we have around 45 active volunteers and a project in the conceptual/development phase which will combat desertification in Extremadura, Spain. We will cover the soil with solar panels (AgriVoltaics) and give space to indigenous vegetation. We then integrate regenerative agriculture to create an opportunity for people to invest, as well as donate, their time, money, and efforts.

After months of hard work, we are opening up to new volunteers again. Would you like to help preserve and regenerate nature in the most efficient and innovative ways? Are you able to self-motivate and bring tasks to completion?

Our Expectations:

We are looking for individuals who:

• Take initiative and can keep things simple in a start-up environment
• Want to become part of the Viable Team and help transform our organization
• Can self-finish tasks, coordinate tasks, and make decisions while including input from circle participants
• Are willing to learn and work with our digital office tools, including Google Workspace, Slack, and ClickUp
• Can check in at least twice a week

Project Development Reinforcements Possibilities:

• Business Analyst / Financial Analyst: Assist in preparing pitch decks, financial projections, and proposal writing for investors.
• Agricultural Expert / Farm Manager: Collaborate on the design of large-scale farming projects, focusing on regenerative agriculture in arid areas.
• Assistant Agrivoltaic Project Development: Support the development of a 100-hectare AgriVoltaic project.
• On-site Contact Person (Volunteers based in Extremadura): Engage with locals to improve the environment and support rural community outreach.
• Photovoltaic System Engineer: Provide expertise in the design and construction of solar panel installations.
• Soil Scientist: Assist in soil management and regeneration techniques to optimize productivity and sustainability.
• Rural Community Outreach / Local Spokesperson: Promote the project locally and engage with the community to garner support.

Additional Information:

We are currently transitioning from the conceptual phase through the design phase and aim to have our completed business plan finished before the end of May 2024. Training and induction will be provided, and volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in various skill-building workshops and network-building activities. We encourage individuals with a passion for sustainability and nature preservation to apply.

Time Commitment: 8 hours a week, with flexibility to complete tasks when available.

Location: Remote role that can be based anywhere, requiring a computer and a good internet connection.
