Volunteer Marketing and Communications

The Hague Peace Projects is a young organization in The Hague that is committed to peace by providing analysis and information about armed conflict, stimulating dialogue between warring parties and encouraging public debate about war and peace. We strive to reach as many people as possible through podcasts, events, social media and, for example, press releases. That is why we are looking for a volunteer for approximately 1 day a week who can help us set up and implement an (online) media strategy that will allow us to increase our reach and the professionalism of our communication in a broad sense.

The main focus is to promote online educational content on peace (mainly video/podcasts). It also involves promoting events online about promoting peace. The Hague Peace Projects will be creating a weekly podcast on YouTube from early 2023 called “Time to Talk!” ( https://www.youtube.com/@thehaguepeaceprojects7229 ). Each episode an expert or experienced expert is interviewed regarding issues of war and peace, for example in response to the wars in Ukraine or Israel/Palestine. It always revolves around the question: “how will peace come?” There is already a group of loyal listeners, people who respond and are involved in what is said in the podcast. We aim to greatly expand this group and create content that informs an increasingly large group of people about conflicts and motivates them to take action for peace.

We need a good communication and marketing strategy, and support in implementing it, so that the content becomes available on more online platforms and more people become involved in our work.

We ask for this position:

- Knowledge of and experience with (online) marketing and communication

- Knowledge of working with social media platforms such as Youtube, Spotify, Instagram, Facebook, etc

-About 4-8 hours per week availability

- Passion for the subject of war and peace.
